Holiday Bucket List

Our Christmas Tree

The holidays have always been my favorite time of year. There is something so special about snuggling by a sparkling Christmas tree, baking sugary festive treats and exchanging warm wishes and gifts with the ones we love. Every year there are always a thousand ways that I want to celebrate the holidays and make the year particularly special. This year, in an effort to accomplish at least half of what I want to, I started to whittle away my list the second the turkey left the table. Here’s how I’m hoping to make the 2018 holidays warm and bright -

  1. Decorate a Christmas tree

  2. Bake at least three new cookie recipes

  3. Finish my Christmas shopping early so I can have all the presents wrapped and under the tree to appreciate

  4. Drive around to see all the neighbor’s lights

  5. See the National Christmas tree, the Georgetown light display and U.S. Botanic garden display

  6. Watch my favorite Christmas movies - A Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street and White Christmas

  7. Enjoy colonial hot chocolate

  8. Adopt a child through the Salvation Army Angel program

  9. Read The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living

  10. Create the perfect Christmas playlist for our road trip to Massachusetts

How are you planning on enjoying the holiday? I love finding new traditions, so please share!
