Is anyone else excited for the royal wedding on Saturday? In honor of the occasion I’m excited to share my Royal Wedding Scone Recipe. I made these for Kate & William’s wedding and they were delicious, I’m excited to enjoy them again while I watch the festivities!
This recipe makes about a dozen small round scones. I suggest serving them with jam and Devonshire cream.
Mix together 1 3/4 cup flour, 1/3 cup white sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, and a dash of salt. Next, use a pastry blender or large fork to cut in 5 tbsp. chilled unsalted butter. Once the butter is fully combined mix in 4 tbsp. orange juice. Finish the dough by adding 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
On a flat and floured surface roll the dough into a disc about 1/2 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or juice glass to cut out the scones. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
Do you have any scone recipes? I’m always looking to try new ones so please share! Also, if you can’t find Devonshire cream anywhere this recipe is pretty good! http://thepioneerwoman.com/food-and-friends/how-to-make-mock-devonshire-clotted-cream/
