One of my favorite parts of dressing for a new season is changing my beauty routine. I also love to incorporate warmer toned eyeshadow and blush, and a nice darker rosy lip, while also giving a nod to the current trends. What’s great about makeup trends is that you can try out new trends without making much of a dent in your wallet - the season’s hottest nail color will cost you under $10. Today I have put together some of my favorite fall beauty trends and how to wear them, to inspire your beauty wardrobe for this autumn.
Rich Red Lips
It’s easy to achieve a rich red pout. First, line your lips with a lipliner that matches your lipstick. I really love the Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown lipliners, they have amazing staying power! I’ve also heard great things about Wet and Wild lipliners. Next, find a red lipstick that looks flattering on your skin tone. My favorite is Glossier Generation G in Zip or Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Vermillion Red (currently on sale!). The Neutrogena Moisturesmooth Color Stick, 160 Classic Red is a great drugstore option too!
Using a light shimmery eyeshadow on the inner half of your eye, like Reese, did, really opens up the eye. Use a shimmery shade without glitter in it - think pearlescent not sparkly. I really love this smudge brush to apply shadow on the inner corners, and a q-tip works okay too. I think this shade is really pretty to use!
Brown lipstick is a huge trend for fall - the 90s are back! Just look at Constance Wu’s makeup in Crazy Rich Asians. My favorite brown shade is Generation G in Leo. It layers well, so you can get the perfect color pay off to suit your skin tone. It has a matte finish, so put a lip balm on top to add some shine.
Sunset eyes are a big trend for fall as well. An easy way to adopt to the trend without going too dramatic is to use copper and bronze eyeshadow colors. Use a few different shades, with the darkest shade closest to your lash line and the lightest shade near your brow bone.
Two Tone Shadow
To get Emma Stone’s eyeshadow look use a colorful eyeshadow on your lid and smudge black eyeliner into the lower lash line. For more drama, layer black eyeshadow on top of the liner.
Dramatic Winged Liner
The easiest way to get a dramatic wineed eyeliner like Lily Collins is to use a liquid eyeliner pen. My favorite is the Kat Von D one in Trooper.
A blue eyeliner is a great way to add some pop to any outfit without being too dramatic or over the top. The Urban Decay 24/7 liners come in so many colors! Just apply a thin line to the top of your eyelash line.
