I finished a few books in the last couple of weeks that I wanted to share with you. I love to read, and I love giving and getting book recommendations. I’ve been updating my Reading List page of my site with the books I’m reading, and I think periodically I will write blog posts with a quick synopsis of my thoughts on the ones I recently finished.
First up, Artemis by Andy Weir. I really enjoyed this book. It’s about a heist that takes place on the moon. It’s fun and it reads quickly, and it goes into all of the nuances of living in space just like The Martian did. To be honest I liked The Martian a little more, but still highly recommend this book for a quick and enjoyable read.
I also finished The Women in the Castle. I also enjoyed this book a lot. If you read and enjoyed All The Light We Cannot See or The Nightingale then this is a must read. It’s about three women navigating life in Germany after WWII, and it does a good job of mixing narratives about the unexpected joys of every day life with the shadows and demons that the women live with.
Along the same vein, The Alice Network explores post WWII France and includes multiple flashbacks to both WWI and WWII. It is largely the story of a former female spy during WWI, and the characters are based on true heroines. It was also a very quick and engrossing read, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves historical fiction novels.
Have any of you read any good books recently! I’d love to hear. Send me and email or post in the comment section and I’ll add it to a new section on the Reading List page for book recommendations!
