Happy Friday!

Washington DC hydrangea

I hope you all had a wonderful week! Mine was spent getting back on track after a weekend away, cookies, candies from FAO Schwartz, and lots of work. The business will be worth it though, when I get to relax on Saturday and spent time with my parents when they arrive next week. They started talking about visiting for the 4th of July almost a year ago, I can’t believe the trip is actually here! This past year has just flown by for me - the phrase the days are long but the years are short is so true.

Here are some fun things I enjoyed online this week -

You can remove pen ink stains with hand sanitizer, and it really works!

I always love Carly’s Spotify playlists and she has a new one

Happy Friday everyone! Is it me or is May already flying by? I know it just started but I feel like it’s already almost over. I have a feeling that that is how the whole summer is going to feel, between holidays and vacations and family visiting. You know the saying, time flies when you’re having fun (or rather, busy!) This week had a bit of time to catch up on life - chores, errands, phonecalls. Plus, we made it to the zoo on a Wednesday so I’ll just call it a success! The weather is so nice here I think we will continue playing tourist this weekend and see Mount Vernon before it gets too hot. What are your plans?

Happy Friday everyone! Or rather, happy Avengers weekend! LOL I’m so happy and sad to see the movie, I can’t believe the series is ending - what do we have left to look forward to?! I can’t wait to see it with lots of popcorn and La Croix (after we re-watch the last one, of course). That, and grilling on the roof. The air is the perfect 70ish degrees with no humidity, and I’m enjoying it as much as I can before the summer heat comes.

Happy Friday and Happy Easter! Are you doing anything fun for the holiday? We are going to go to Mass at the giant Basilica in DC, the Church is so gorgeous and so stately - I’m excited to go and see everyone decked out in their Easter best. After that we are having an early dinner at a D.C. Italian spot called Filomena. They go all out with their decorations and when I peeked in the window I saw Easter decoration overload, which is right up my alley ; ) Plus, I got JD some Easter surprises so I’m sure we’ll have a good time being in a sugar coma when we get home, as is the case every Easter in my family!

Spring has sprung in D.C.!

Spring has sprung in D.C.!

Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about all of you, but this was an exhausting week for me. I feel so tired and run down (hence the lack of post yesterday), I’m really looking forward to taking it easy this weekend. I hope to sleep in, order takeout, and do lots of crafts. Nothing re-energizes me like a pair of knitting needles or a few hours in front of my Circuit. Hopefully after a weekend full of crafts and good books I feel bright eyed and bushy tailed come Monday to take on a new exciting week! What are you favorites ways to re-charge after a long and stressful week?

I did find some time to browse the internet, and here’s some things I really enjoyed -

I’m excited about this new haircare line Grace talks about on her blog!

I’m in love with pink sunglasses right now and these pink Ray Bans are fabulous

Happy Friday

a few of my favorite things

Happy Friday everyone! Did you all have a nice week? A nice Valentine’s Day? We stayed in and ate homemade pasta and lava cake. It came out really delicious, I can’t wait to share the recipe with you guys! I’d never made one before, and I have a feeling it is going to be one of those desserts I made on repeat now. Other than that it was a pretty quiet week, very rainy which meant staying in and watching movies and old television at night. With the Oscars coming up I’ve been inspired to watch some of the old winners, so we have Darkest Hour in the queue along with Bohemian Rhapsody. Does anyone have any other recommendations? I’ve been searching for a new television show to watch, and haven’t found anything I’m really excited about - we like quirky and funny, not too dark. Think Friends and Parks & Rec.

Anyways, here are some other things I’ve been enjoying this week -

I have the Rifle Paper Co x Jansport pouch pictured above and I’m obsessed. The pattern is so darling and it’s the perfect size to fit into your handbag for all of your beauty essentials, bandaids, etc.

I think the gown Kate Middleton wore to the BAFTA’s is my favorite yet

An article on Mary Kate and Ashley today. I loved them so much growing up, what about you?

I love the scalloped edge of these tortoise earrings

Martha Stewart’s recipe for homemade bubble bath

I loved seeing Ashley Brooke’s pictures of behind the scenes at Kate Spade. The glitter nails make me so happy!

This Corgi mug is darling, do you think the Queen might have one?

Some good advice on what to splurge on and what to save on

My old iPad case was literally falling apart, so after delaying the purchase for a while I finally bit the bullet and bought this dusty pink one. I love it! It’s so light and the color is beautiful. It’s also a good reminder of what a difference a small update to things we already own can make.

I love all of these glitter nail manicures!

Really helpful skincare Q&A from Grace

I hope you all have aw wonderful weekend!

Snow Day in Washington D.C.
Snow Day in Washington D.C.

Happy Friday everyone! Did you all have a good week? It was a snowy one in D.C.! My husband had his first ever snow day on Monday, and we went out to see what D.C. looked like after the storm. Seeing the Washington and Lincoln Memorials covered in snow was surreal, almost like walking through a living snow globe! I even got to throw some snow balls into the ice covered reflecting pond.

Here are some things online I’ve loved this week-

Happy Friday

winter village in the Berkshires

Happy Friday everyone! What a busy and wonderful week. We went up to Massachusetts and got to see almost all of my extended family (30-40 of us on Christmas Eve, it was so wonderful!) and now we are back at home before my parents stop by for the weekend. Until then, here are some things I enjoyed this week-

I started reading Small Admissions on the train and am really enjoying it. It’s written in a clever and engaging way, from multiple points of view.

Essie Showroom for One is the perfect winter nail polish color, a gorgeous gray blue.

There are a number of amazing deals at J.Crew right now, with an extra 50% off sale. I love these pajamas for winter and these rose gold pansy earrings that I wore all fall are a steal at $6.50!

Mary Poppins was so wonderful if you didn’t see it yet! And made me want to rewatch the original a few times this weekend.

I love these pink beaded Anthropologie earrings, which are 40% off sale! Such a great pink pop of color to go with darker winter hues.

Christmas at the Breakers

Happy Friday everyone! Did you all have a wonderful week before the holiday madness sets in? We are off tomorrow morning bright and early and I am happy to report I finished all my chores and errands and wrapping and packing and am looking forward to sitting back for a 6-8 hour car ride with the ones I love and some good books on tape. Here are some of the things I’m excited about from this week -

Where’d You Go Bernadette is one of my favorite books and the movie trailer is finally out. It looks so good, and I think Cate Blanchett is the perfect choice for Bernadette.

Anthropologie is having a great sale on Christmas gifts, including lots of dainty earrings and ornaments. I really love these dainty North Star earrings that hug your ear lobe and are 40% off. They are the perfect mix of dainty and trendy, and look a lot like the earrings favored by Emily on Cupcakes and Cashmere.

I’ve been really enjoying finding the perfect my lips but better lipstick shade recently, and I just saw this MAC combo I love - MAC lipliner in Soar and lipstick in Creme Cup. It’s the perfect nude pink!

Stephanie and Brandi from RHOD are starting a podcast. Anyone else curious?

Jim Gaffigan has a new comedy sketch on Amazon, Noble Ape, that I really enjoyed, especially his bit on the American Revolution. My husband and I could not stop laughing! We’re listening to his books on tape on our drive up to MA, I’ll let you know what we think!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
