New Glossier Eye Cream!

Glossier eye cream

Hi friends! Did you have a great weekend? I saw Avenger End Game and I think I’m still processing…it’s the end of an era, you know? I haven’t felt this way since I finished the last Harry Potter, lol. So between that and spending time with family and friends and getting on top of life it was a busy weekend and a busy Monday. I’m excited to start the week out on a positive foot by announcing a new Glossier launch - Bubblewrap, Glossier’s eye cream and lip primer!

Bubblewrap is a two-in-one product that delivers the perfect dose of hydration to both eyes and lips. It has a light formula with 9 active complexes, and it starts as a cream and breaks down into a “light as silk texture” when you tap it into skin. This means that it works great under makeup, since it has no pilling or extra residue (you know that stuff around your eyes that you think is sleep? It’s likely eye cream).

Bubblewrap doubles as a lip primer, since it provides a moisturizing base for long wear lipstick!

It costs $26 a tube and you can get 10% off your first Glossier order with my rep link!

Have you tried any new eye screams lately? Or Glossier?

Glossier Milky Oil Review

Review of Glossier Milky Oil
Review of Glossier Milky Oil

I’ve been using Milky Oil for a few weeks now, and I really love it! Now that I’ve used the product for a little while I’m excited to right a full review for you guys. (I hate it when people review skincare and they’ve barely used it! Don’t you?) The makeup remover comes in a light pink squeeze bottle. I really like that the dispenser makes it almost impossible to pour out too much product, and I haven’t had any issues with product leaking out once the cap is on.

Review of Glossier Milky Oil

To use, shake Milky Oil well and pour onto a cotton pad. Then wipe all over your face after washing. It gets up the rest of your makeup, even stubborn eye makeup. Unlike a lot of other makeup removers I’ve used, it doesn’t leave an oily residue and it doesn’t sting. I feel like my face is clean without being dried out (squeaky clean skin isn’t actually good! It means you’ve stripped your skin of it’s natural oils and protective barrier).

Review of Glossier Milky Oil

I have very sensitive skin, and Milky Oil hasn’t caused any redness or irritation. That’s a big win in my book!

Review of Glossier Milky Oil

Overall I give the product an A+!

Have you tried Milky Oil yet? Or any other great new skincare? Don’t forget you get 10% off your first Glossier order with my rep link : )

How To Combat Dry Winter Skin

I don’t know about you, but the cold and dry winter weather has done a number on my skin. I’ve woken up with so many dry, flaky patches and my lips are constantly chapped. To say the least, it’s not a good look (and it’s not comfortable either). To combat this “winter skin” I’ve brought out the big guns - thick products full of moisturizing agents - and tried to be extra diligent about taking care of my skin. Thankfully, it’s made a big difference and I feel like my skin is coming back to life. Here are my favorite tips - which aren’t all about buying new products by the way. There are lots of ways to take care of your skin that don’t involve any extra $.

Winter Skincare Products For Your Face
  1. Use lots of moisturizer. Make sure you slather it on morning and night, and use a thick layer. Also reach for products that don’t have a lot of added fragrance or other facial irritants. Even if your skin isn’t normally sensitive, gentler products will soothe your winter skin a lot better - excessive dryness breaks down your moisture barrier, so you don’t want to risk irritating it further. I’m currently using the Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer at night (it really makes my skin dewy!) and Embryolisse in the morning (it’s great under makeup, it makes everything apply smoothly and doesn’t feel greasy).

  2. Skip physical exfoliators. Your skin is already chapped, you don’t want to cut it up further with scrubs. Instead, look for chemical exfoliants. These will help repair your skin without tearing it up. If you need one, I love Prism by Herbivore, and I’ve heard great things about Glossier Solution. The Prism makes my skin look more even, and I feel like my other products apply a lot smoother. Plus it’s never irritated my skin, which is rare.

  3. Use masks to provide extra TLC. Moisturizing masks are a great way to add some extra hydration, and detox masks can help combat pimples so you don’t have to reach for harsh anti-astringents. My favorite detox mask is Glossier Galaxy Greens (it’s really good at eliminating pimples when you can tell they are coming but haven’t sprouted yet), and I’ve heard great things about the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. I’ll actually be picking it up once I’ve used up my stash of product samples!

  4. Drink lots of water and get sleep!

Winter Skincare Products For Your Lips
  1. Apply lip balm before you go to sleep, and as often as you can throughout the day. I keep mine next to me so I can keep reapplying after I eat or drink. If you need a new lip balm the best one I’ve ever used is Dr. Lipp.

  2. Use a lip scrub so that the lip balm penetrates your skin and doesn’t just flake off with your dry skin. You can use a slightly damp toothbrush or a face cloth. Apply lip balm, and then gently rub the toothbrush or wash cloth in small circles for about two minutes. You can also use a lip scrub, like this one French Girl Lip Polish.

  3. Switch out lipstick and lipgloss for tinted lip balm. I personally use the Fresh Sugar ones; I find them to be very moisturizing and the colors are so pretty (Petal and Spice are my favorite).

Winter Skincare Products for Your Body
  1. The skin on my body gets the driest - I call it the cities and it plagues me all year round, but especially in the winter. Anyone else? One thing that helps a lot is to put on yoga pants immediately after I get out of the shower/bath. I read it holds in moisture and I’ve noticed a big difference.

  2. Always apply moisturizer when you get out of the shower/tub. Personally, the only one I will use is Burt’s Bees with Aloe and Buttermilk. It’s the only moisturizer that doesn’t make my keratosis pilaris worse, and it soothes my dry legs in winter. I think any product makes a difference if you don’t have sensitivities though, there are so many good inexpensive ones out there like Eucerin; just make sure there aren’t a lot of added fragrances, it can cause extra irritation which is the last thing you want.

  3. Use a scrub with essential oils to slough off dead skin so the moisturizer can get through and repair your skin. I always pick up a small container at whole foods.

  4. Try and take less hot baths and showers. To be honest, I never manage to do this my self because a steaming how shower is one of my favorite things in the whole world, but I’m sure it would help if I did!

Do you have any tips for winter skin?

What To Get At The Sephora VIB Sale

What To Get At The Sephora VIB Sale

The Sephora VIB sale for fall 2018 is going on right now until September 3 - Right now Rouge members get 20% off starting last Friday; VIB members get 15% off starting Thursday August 30, and Beauty Insiders (free, all you have to do is sign up!) get 10% off starting Thursday August 30. Sephora sales are some of my favorite, because everything is on sale, in stores and online. Since brands like NARS or Drybar almost never go on sale, it's a pretty big sale and a good time to stock up on beauty favorites, gifts, or anything you have been wanting to try. Personally, I am almost out of a few hair products and my blow dryer just broke, so the sale is perfect timing! I also have my eye on some makeup, haha. Here are my favorites -

T3 Cura - I can't wait to pick up this hair dryer! The reviews on Sephora is amazing, and I have heard wonderful things about T3 products for years. I love that it is light weight and dries thick hair quickly.

Drybar products - I love Drybar hair products. They perform well, are light weight, and don't make my hair feel sticky or heavy. My favorites are the hairspray, the Chaser shine cream and the hair clips

Amika Polished Perfection Straightening Brush - I love this brush. It polishes your hair while still leaving body and volume. It's especially perfect for second day hair too!

Olaplex - Olaplex helps repair and strengthen damaged hair, including color treated hair. I've heard rave reviews and can't wait to try it!

Living Proof Dry Shampoo - Living Proof is the gold standard dry shampoo. It actually cleans your hair and absorbs dirt and oil.

Dry Bar Wrap Party - I got this Drybar curling wand a few months ago and love it. It heats up very quickly and the curls last all day and night. I love that the barrel is different width so you can create tight or loose curls.

Invisibobble - I love these hair ties! They don't dent your hair when you wear them to workout, and make a voluminous pony.

Fresh Sugar Lips - These are my favorite lip colors. They are super hydrating, and the Petal color is very pretty. I'm also excited to try Spice for fall.

Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara - I love this Bobbi Brown mascara. It provides lots of volume and doesn't flake or smudge. And the VIB sale is a perfect time to stock up on your favorite mascara, no matter what it is.

Naked 2 Palette - This eye shadow palette has every color you need. It's one of my favorites - the color pay off is superb, and the colors blend really well.

Foundation - The sale is the perfect time to stock up on beauty staples, like your favorite foundation. This Giorgio Armani one is a big favorite; it has natural looking coverage and good staying power.

Fenty Lip Gloss - Lip gloss is back ladies! This one is universal to match every skin tone and makes your lips look full and plump and has a hint of shimmer.

NARS lip velvets - Lip velvets provide the perfect color pay off for fall. I especially love all of the deeper red shades.

NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm - I've been seeing this lip balm everywhere lately and finally checked it out in store last week. It is the prettiest subtle peach shade with the very faintest amount of gold shimmer. Perfect for a no makeup makeup look.

Biossance Squalene Oil - I heard about this oil on Fat Mascara and can't wait to try it out. It's free of most chemicals, and helps improve your skins barrier so it retains moisture better. The vitamin C and the original both look great, I can't decide!

Supergoop SPF Setting Spray - I love using this SPF setting spray. It protects my skin from the sun and is so easy to reapply on the go.

Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel - I use the 5 pack of these when my skin needs a little pick me up. They make your skin glow and cure any breakouts.

Bite Lip Mask - Unlike most lip balms, this one (and the Fresh one) actually works to heal lips. Plus, it smells divine!

Foreo Luna - I love, love my Foreo Luna! I swear I never get breakouts anymore, and my skin always feels clean without feeling stripped of moisture.

Jet Lag Mask - This mask has been flying off the shelves! It is supposed to hydrate and plump your skin, and it is "clean" at Sephora.

Kiehl's Value Kit - The sale is a perfect time to stock up on skin care as well. Kiehl's is a great heritage brand, which I have used for a while. The SPF moisturizer is great and I want to try the Vitamin C serum

Chloe Perfume - Speaking of stocking up, what better to get on sale than your favorite perfume? Plus it makes a great gift!

SLIP pillow case - I have used SLIP pillow cases for a few years and they are wonderful. While a silk pillowcase is an investment, it's worth it in my opinion. My skin and hair are less dry and frizzy in the morning, and it feels cool in the summer months, and luxurious as well.

Hair Turban - These hair turbans are supposed to be less damaging to your hair, and they keep your wet hair tied up and out of your face.

Makeup Brushes - A good makeup brush makes a huge difference, and I have found the Sephora brand ones to be consistently good quality. If you are looking to invest in some good brushes, a sale is the perfect time to do so.

Cologne - I always like to get my husband coloring for the holidays, and getting it on sale is even better.

Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser - Last but not least, this is my favorite makeup brush cleaner. It gets brushes clean quickly, and it is easy to travel with if need be. Plus, it lasts forever.

Are there any beauty products you are looking to stock up on? What are your favorites?
