Gal Meets Glam Regina Dress

I am obsessed with how the skirt on this Gal Meets Glam Regina dress twirls! Honestly, I’m obsessed with everything about this dress. The red orange color, the square neckline, the sleeve, the pockets, and the full skirt. It is so fun and so elegant and so wonderful! I could wear it every day, all day and feel like a movie star. I think this dress is very Mrs. Maisel approved, don’t you?!

Gal Meets Glam Regina Dress

The fabric on the dress is a light crepe, and it’s lined, so it’s perfect for summer. It holds its shape without having any extra weight, and it feels light on. I’d say it is true to size, though if you are in between sizes go down. The darting is quite generous if you have a larger top, and the cinched in waist is very flattering. In addition, the neckline and sleeve are very bra-friendly. The color of this dress is a bright orange-red, which I love! It is so bright and cheerful for summer, and would also be perfect around the holidays.

Dress / Pumps / Earrings / Bag

I paired it with my Chanel dupe pumps and my scallop statement earrings. These oversized shell earrings (called Mermaid earrings!) are so light they feel like you don’t have anything on, and I love how fun they are! ! I think they make the dress look day time appropriate and summer-y. I would wear it with some pearl studs or shiny statement earrings for night time, or in the winter.

Just look at how it twirls! I can’t wait to wear the Regina to go dancing!

Feeling Glamorous In The Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress

Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress
Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress

Last weekend the temperatures warmed up a little bit so I got to have fun dressing up and going out in the Gal Meets Glam Lola dress. Isn’t the print of this dress lovely? I am obsessed with the flowers and the color. It manages to remind me of spring flowers while still being appropriate for winter. Plus the ruffle detailing on the sleeves makes me feel so glamorous! I normally don’t go for ruffles, but this dress made me change my mind and I’m so glad! Stepping outside of your comfort zone can be scary, but also so rewarding.

Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress

I love the fabric - the Lola has the texture of a very light brocade, so it feels elegant without being heavy. It also keeps it’s shape very well, which is perfect for twirling! Also, if anyone is wondering it fits true to size, and has pockets!

Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress

Since Lola feels so vintage glam, can’t you see Grace Kelly in it?, I went with vintage inspired accessories as well. These Margaux ballet flats are a classic silhouette, and the dove gray matches everything. I also opted for my all time favorite handbag, by the brand which Grace Kelly used to wear!

Gal Meets Glam Lola Dress

Finally, since the dress has a lot going on I kept my jewelry delicate. When you wear a bold print, statement jewelry can sometimes feel like too much. Instead, try and layer delicate pieces. I love rose gold, and it matches the dress perfectly, so I went with my favorite rose gold flower earrings (similar) and the infinity bracelet my husband gave we on our wedding day. I wear it with almost everything, it’s so special to me.

What outfits are making you feel glamorous lately? Do you love the style of Grace Kelly too?

Gal Meets Glam Dress Blanche for Fall

Gal Meets Glam Blanche Dress
Gal Meets Glam Blanche Dress

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite new fall dresses, the Gal Meets Glam Blanche dress. Aren’t the plaid and the bow just darling? I love all the details, from the cuffs at the end of the sleeves to the pockets to the thick plaid fabric. And did I mention the bow?

Gal Meets Glam Blanche Dress

The dress fits true to size. It is fitted around the waist, and the skirt doesn’t flair out as much as some of the other Gal Meets Glam dresses. The buttons on the front are faux, so you don’t have to worry about any gaping either. The fabric is quite thick, so even though it’s a dress I think you would be warm during a fall night, especially if you wore it with tights.

Gal Meets Glam Blanche Dress

I couldn’t resist pairing the bow on the Gal Meets Glam dress with the bow on my Lisi Lerch Charlotte Black Snaffle bag. I love this bag so much. I’ve had my eye on it ever since Carly wore it a few seasons ago, and it’s always been sold out. Lisi Lerch recently re-released it and I pounced. No buyer’s remorse here! It fits everything I need it to, goes with everything, and is so darn cute. I really love that the black bow makes it appropriate for winter pairings, and the basket weave make it perfect for summer.

Happy Friday Friends!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week! As you read this I am on my way to NYC for the weekend. Saturday night we are going to see Hamilton and I cannot put my excitement into words. I got the tickets for my husband for our first anniversary months ago (year one is paper, so it seemed fitting) and now that it’s finally here I’m singing the show tunes in my head and jumping out of my seat. I can’t wait to report back on the show!

Pansy Flower

1. New Gal Meets Glam dresses launched on Wednesday. I love the retro feel of the dresses. They have such an Old Hollywood Glamour vibe and I love it. Plus, there are jackets!

2. I got my first pair of Lisi Lirch earrings and I love how much glamor they add to an outfit. I think a giant statement earrings is the perfect complement to fall’s Fisherman Sweaters, cardigans, and plaid.

3. I recently watched To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before on Netflix and I thought it was so cute. Now I can’t wait to read the books!

4. It’s pumpkin and butternut squash season. Here’s my favorite soup recipe. It makes the perfect meal and leaves lots of leftovers.

5. I recently discovered these Laura Mercier paint wash lip colors (I was browsing Kameron Westcott’s instagram feed for barbie lip color inspiration, haha) and I love the shade Petal Pink. They are currently on sale too!

A Day In Milan

Doesn't the lion looks furious about all of the pigeons?

Doesn't the lion looks furious about all of the pigeons?

The next stop in our Italy vacation was a day in Milan. We stayed in the city for three days, taking day trips to Lake Cuomo and Portofino for two of the days. The city is a lot different than Rome or Florence. There were modern sky scrapers and office buildings, along with above ground train tracks. It felt more industrial, but still featured beautiful Renaissance construction.

Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper

We spent the first day entirely in Milan and saw the Duomo, Milan's enormous Cathedral, and Leonardo DaVinci's Last Supper.

Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper

I hadn't realized that The Last Supper is painted on the actual wall of a church, so everything about the painting was a complete surprise. The painting truly was awe inspiring, it seems to glow despite how faded it is.

Milan Duomo
Milan Duomo

The Cathedral is simply massive. It looks a little like a giant frosted cake. The level of detail on the outside is just amazing. Every carving is different, and there are hundreds of them. We opted to take the elevator up to the roof, and were able to actually walk around the roof of the church and look out on the city. The first time I've been on the roof of a church, haha. It was a little scary to be honest, but if you aren't afraid of heights it's worth it to have such a spectacular view.

Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper

I opted to wear my hat and my Gal Meets Glam Lauren dress (on sale) since shoulders and knees had to be covered to enter the church. It was very hot that day, so I wanted something modest but also lightweight. In addition I wore my trusty Superga sneakers. This is my second pair since I wore through my other ones after a few hundred miles of walking. They are so comfortable and look cute with dresses.

I also want to mention that this Gal Meets Glam Lauren dress is currently 40% off. It is one of my favorite pieces and well worth the price, I think. The shape of the dress is so unique, and reminds me of the dresses of old Hollywood movie stars. It's also quite flattering, and I love the orange and brown print, though it also comes in a blue print. It dry cleaned well, and runs true to size (though if you have a larger chest I would size up).

Have you ever been to Milan? Or on the roof of a church?

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday friends! Did everyone have a nice week? Did it go quickly? Mine sure did! Basically, I blinked and it was Thursday. I think this weekend is going to go by pretty quickly too; I'm going to Orlando to see family and friends and that always flies by. What about you, and fun plans?

Stuart beach

I've been making acai bowls a lot lately and it's way easier than I thought! The Trader Joes acai packets make it so easy to get a thick texture. Does anyone else like acai? Should I post my recipe?

Have you seen these new sweatshirts on Kiel James Patrick? I swiped up the Cape Cod ones. I never find cute tourist sweatshirts, and these look soft and cozy too.

New items have been added to the Gal Meets Glam sale (40% off!). I got this dress, which I'm hoping to wear it when we go on vacation for our one year anniversary next month. Here is everything on sale right now:

Have you seen the trailer for the new Winnie the Pooh movie? It looks positively wonderful. As does the Mary Queen of Scotts trailer. Tudor history is one of my absolute favorite disciplines, and this movie looks like it could be an all time favorite for me.

Does anyone have any light summer reading recommendations? When we go away I try not to bring anything too heavy or dark, since I don't want to bring down my mood. I'm always up for a new fantasy book if you've read any good ones!

Gal Meets Glam Millie Dress

Gal Meets Glam Millie Dress

My new Gal Meets Glam Millie dress arrived in the mail on Friday. It's so beautiful, and so well made. When my husband and I got in the car on Sunday and drove up the coast to wander around Palm Beach, I knew it was the perfect outfit. It's my first maxi length dress, and I can't believe I waited this long to own one! The length is so flattering and swishes so nicely.

The Gal meets Glam Millie dress is a faux wrap dress, which is one of my favorite silhouettes. I love the bow on the side and the v-neckline, it's very flattering. I would consider sizing up, since the sleeves are a bit tight. As to the length, the dress hit the top of my foot and I'm 5'7. The fabric is heavy which makes it hang nicely. Finally, it is very easy to steam the wrinkles out, and it didn't wrinkle from our car ride at all.

Millie Dress / Jack Rogers / Grace Box Mark Cross Bag

I wore it with my beige Jack Rogers sandals and my new Grace Box bag. I love that the beige and white color palette of the Millie dress makes it easy to pair with colorful accessories!

I also decided to do a smokier eye than usual. I used this eyeliner, it didn't smudge at all and the humidity was over 100 (!!!) Finally, I recently cut my hair for summer, and used my Drybar curling wand for some beach waves. They lasted all day, even in the extreme humidity.

Are you a fan of the maxi dress? Do you have any favorites? I'd love to hear where you shop for them, I think my closet needs some further additions!

Happy Friday Friends!

The Breakers Courtyard

It's Friday! This week went by very quickly. It was nice to get back in the swing of things after recovering from my cold, and I'm looking forward to keep the momentum going this weekend. My husband is playing golf so I'm going shopping, and we are going to try and see the new Jurassic Park movie. I've also got some fun projects I want to start working on for the blog, which I'm really looking forward to.

Gal Meets Glam launched some new dresses and they are all gorgeous. I'm so impressed by how many unique designs she has already created. I ordered the Millie and I'm so excited; I don't have any maxi dresses and I think this is going to be a wonderful place to start my collection. I also love all of these:

I was talking to a doctor recently, and he strongly suggested we get a Brita pitcher and don't buy water stored in plastic. I know everyone will have differing views on this, but I thought I would share.

My social icon links are fixed! They should now link to my Twitter, Pinterst and Instagram accounts.

Lisa Eldridge has a new beauty tutorial based Chung. Lisa Eldridge is a big name in the makeup artists world (she works with the likes of Kate Winslet and Lilly Collins) and her videos are so well done. It's easy to follow what she does and she's just delightful to watch.

Dior has released makeup Meghan Markle wore for the Royal Wedding. Here is the foundation, Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation, and eyeshadow palette

Tuckernuck has some amazing new arrivals! I love this rainbow sweatshirt - isn't it just so fun? And these earrings are on the top of my wish list.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Gal Meets Glam Anne Dress

Gal Meets Glam Anne Dress

Today I'm excited to share the other Gal Meets Glam dress I bought, the Anne. I love everything about this dress- it feels like a party dress, but the cotton fabric still makes it appropriate for day time errands or brunch dates. I hope she brings it back in other colors and prints, it's so wonderful! On that note, GMG releases new dresses today! I've been blown away by the quality of the dresses, I'm so excited to see what else she created.

Gal Meets Glam Anne Dress

The dress pattern of little flowers is so lovely, and the fabric has a nice weight to it so it doesn't immediately crinkle or lay awkwardly. The fit of the dress is true to size. I like that the buttons in the front are faux, so there isn't any problems with gaping. The sash makes it easy to perfect the waist to your waist as well.

Finally, I love the collar. I've always been a fan of a color, and I often wear oxfords and polos. Julia mixed two of my favorite styles, a collar and a floral print to make the perfect dress

Soludos pink espadrilles

To make the dress more casual for day time, I accessorized it with my flat espadrilles. The pink color matched the dress perfectly, and I'm also excited to wear them with cut offs and white tees all summer.

Mark Cross Benchley bag

My bracelet is the pearl one by Kiel James Patrick. I think this dress was just asking for pearls, don't you? The KJP pieces are great quality and are made in the USA. I also wore my favorite rose gold aviators.

Have you seen the new dresses released today? Which one is your favorite?

Gal Meets Glam Marilyn Dress

Over the weekend we went to our friends' wedding, and I wore the new Gal Meets Glam Marilyn dress. This dress is so beautiful. The fabric, the cut, the drape, the color, Julia did a wonderful job with every aspect of it. I love the dress's vintage charm. Honestly, I felt like a pretty pretty princess in it all night (did anyone else love that game as a kid? It was my favorite!)

Gal Meets Glam Collection Marilyn Dress

Gal Meets Glam Marilyn Dress (also available here) / similar shoes (under $70!) / Similar Clutch / Earrings

The fit of the Gal Meets Glam Marilyn dress is true to size. If you are in between sizes, like I was, I recommend sizing up. It is not the kind of silhouette that you want to be tight. In addition, the sash allows for you to slightly adjust the fit, so if it is a tad loose it won't look it. The dress is also lined, and is not remotely see through.

Gal Meets Glam Collection Marilyn Dress

The color photographs true to life. It is a beautiful blue with a slightly gray tint, I think of it as Cinderella blue. The fabric is somewhat heavy, so it drapes very nicely and shwooshed while we danced. In addition the bow stayed tied, and the dress did not wrinkle at all throughout the evening.

Gal Meets Glam Collection Marilyn Dress

I styled the dress with my favorite low heel and a small black clutch (old, similar), along with pearl stud earrings. For my hair, I decided to keep with the vintage vibe and made loose curls with my new curl wand. I really love this wand, and can't wait to do a full tutorial for you guys!

I love this dress, and can't wait to see what other pieces Julia comes out with for the May launch. Seeing her new creations every month is going to be such a treat.

Have any of you seen the dresses in person? What's your favorite?
