With a bit more winter ahead of us, it can get boring to wear the same sweater and jeans combination (or tee and jeans for all my southern followers!), don’t you think? One easy way to get out of this rut is to dress up a sweater with a fun scarf. It adds some glamour, some extra color, and more interest to any outfit.

This outfit is one that I love and wear all the time, it’s such an easy formula to mix and match: cardigan/sweater + tank + jeans + scarf. Here I’m wearing a Lilly Pulitzer cashmere cardigan I got at the Annual Sale. The quality is wonderful. This sweater is so, so soft and it hasn’t pilled or shown any signs of wear even though I put it on all the time. They don’t have this specific one any more, but this one looks very similar and this Terri cashmere wrap is in the prettiest light blue. I also have on a tank top from Target. These tanks are so good! They are long and not see-through at all, and such a great price. Perfect for layering!

Finally, I’m wearing my favorite scarf, a Kate Spade silk one with the most darling peacock design. This particular one is sold out, but they have so many new cute ones! Plus, Tuckernuck makes the most amazing scarves too, and their new releases have the prettiest pastel pinks and light blues in them. Here re some of my favorites right now-

You can also dress up a sweater and add some glamour with a good statement earring. I really love the gold Lisi Lerch ginger ones for extra drama. I also love white earrings like these blossom earrings. They add a great pop of color to the hair.

Life Happens Coffee Mug

I don’t know about you, but this week has required lots of coffee. We made it to the weekend though! Here’s to a couple relaxing days in the crisp fall air.

1. I’ve been looking for some new sunglasses, the big glamorous sized kind, and saw these Kate Spade sunglasses for almost a third what they are at department stores on Amazon. I love these and these.

2. I’m going to the book tour in DC next week. You can sign up here for the tour here, it’s in a bunch of different cities and admission includes a book.  

3. Dyson released a new hair styler - a curling iron and blowout brush. It looks really cool and REALLY expensive. Check it out here.

4. I’ve been reading old school magazines lately and it’s so nice to flip through. I just received InStyle and the subscription is so cheap now! Around a dollar an issue.

5. Does anyone have any new TV show suggestions? I haven’t found any new programs that I like but there’s got to be some! 

6. Let’s go Red Sox! I think a World Series Championship is in our future, and you can’t convince me otherwise.

The Best Pajama Sets

I don't know about you but I love pajamas! I've been on the hunt for some new cozy pairs for summer, and have found so many adorable pairs! There's nothing like slipping into soft pjs after a long day, wouldn't you agree? And if they are cute, well that brings an instant smile to my face!

1. Cherry Print Cotton Poplin Pajamas - I love the pink and red, and the cherries are so cute! J.Crew Facotry is having a big sale right now, so these are 50% plus 20% off (as is most of the store)

2. Lady Bug Print Pajamas - Aren't the lady bugs cute? I have a few other pairs of Kate Spade pajamas, and they are super soft and wash really well. These come in a capri pant version too. 

3. Room Service Satin Pajamas - First, I think Room Service is an adorable name for a pajama brand. Second, I love the toucan sticking out of the pocket and button detailing. 

4. Lake Pajamas - In the summer I often want a pajama set that combines short sleeves and long pants and they are surprisingly hard to find. This set is supposed to be incredibly soft and the light blue is lovely. 

5. Ruffle camisole sleep set - Isn't the print on these adorable? Plus, they are on sale! 

6. Heather Sleep Set - When I saw these on sale I scooped them up right away, I can't wait for them to come in the mail! They look very cozy, and I don't have a pair with long sleeves and shorts.

7. Vintage Pajamas - I don't think a pajama round up is complete without this classic pair. They look so crisp and classic, like something you'd wake up in at the Ritz in a movie. 

8. Knit Pajama Short Set - To me, this is the classic short sleeve pajama silhouette. The are on sale!, and I saw that Carly gave them a great review in her monthly favorites video. 

9. End-on-End Pajamas - Isn't the contrasting piping lovely on this pair? Plus, once again, they are on sale! 

10. Gingham Set - Finally, you can never ever go wrong with gingham pajamas.
