While my family was in Massachusetts for the holidays we went to The Farm Table at the Single Candle store. The food was delicious and inspiring, and the outside was as lovely as a Christmas card.
Outside it looks like an old colonial house, complete with old door latches, candle lit lights, and a wreath on top of every door.
They also decorated their rooster statues for the season. I love how they have hand knit scarves on - it was very cold out, those roosters need to keep warm! (I think it was 7).
Inside is a full bar, a piano, and multiple dining rooms with working fireplaces. I especially like the light fixtures made out of wine bottles.
I had the Butternut Squash Flatbread and my parents both had the Curried Chicken Salad. Both meals were delicious, and everyone's food around us looked so good too! The flatbread though, it was one of the best one's I've ever eaten. The pesto sauce offset the squash really well, and everything was cooked perfectly. It's safe to say I cleaned my plate.
Since we live so far away, I'm planning to recreate the flatbreads at home, homemade pizza dough and all! I can't wait to share how they come out! I love going to a new restaurant and feeling so inspired to cook and create in the kitchen.
If you are in the area I highly recommend trying the restaurant! If not, check back in soon for some flatbread recipes!
